Dec 19/20 Bora Bora – Snorkel, Sunset cruise

View of Bora Bora – note the water color change in the distance. It never ceased to fascinate me.

We passed the Conrad resort. Their website photo gallery: https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/pptbnci-conrad-bora-bora-nui/gallery/
The boat captain showed us how the roof panels are made for the thatched roofs on the bungalows. This section was floating in the water so he grabbed it to show us.
Sparkling wine (French of course) imbued with raspberries
And, back to the ship
Snorkel trip for Tom and me the next day
This isn’t photoshopped. You could almost paint a line at the color change.
The view of other boats when we arrived at the stingray/shark site – again, the people you see are standing.
A closeup of the above photo. Those are stingrays around the man on the right – he’s feeding them 🙁

Our second trip that day was to a location right at the edge of the reef, tyically called coral gardens. An astonishing number of fish in more colors than I could name. That particular location rivaled the best place I’ve snorkeled which was in Indonesia (yes, I liked it better than the Great Barrier Reef!)

This evening, our second party at a motu. These women are part of the ship’s staff, waiting to greet us.

I assume that the wooden frames once had daybeds on them.
Our merry band: Ron, Jamie, Chris, Ellen, Mary, Adden, Jan, and Tom
I walked around the island a little before the evening show and found this boy (I assume his parents were in the show) experimenting with kicking a coconut. Ouch.
Crew dancing once the music started. Crew was primarily Indonesian and Filipino. Our room attendant has been with the company for 28 years. The chef that prepared a special vegan meal for us for our dinner at the specialty restaurant has been with them for 30.
We were greeted as we got back onboard after the evening on the motu. Another great couple of days!

Definitely a wonderful trip. Can’t wait to hear more about the time you and Randy had on Moorea.
