Dec 24 – Moorea hike to a waterfall and Xmas eve event

The next morning, one of the resident dogs. Same story – I’m your friend for life.
Residential road (oceanside real estate is taken) leading up from the beach that we’ll take to get to our hike and waterfall.
One of the guides (and our driver) with a puppy and 2 dogs ahead who will join us.
Avocados are known as the million dollar trees given how much we pay stateside and how inexpensive they are here.
One of a few very friendly kittens at the home (with a beautiful garden) and trailhead. I’ve never seen this color pattern before. She wanted to play with the end of my bamboo hiking stick. Thank heavens they provided them – the trail was pretty muddy and slick.
Hot, humid, rocky and beautiful.
But, this was the payoff. Glorious!
The sirens have already captured one unsuspecting victim.
This lovely gal followed me up the trail and Ron down the trail. She didn’t want any accidents on her watch, thankfully.
It wore the dogs out, too.
A perfect snack was waiting for us. Passionfruit, pineapple, and papaya.
Freshly grated coconut they suggested having with the bananas. Very tasty.
The road back to the car.
At lunch back at the resort: a red vented bulbul (considered a pest because it goes after fruit crops)

Same lovely dog found us for some more attention.
Once we started to ignore her, she started working the crowd.
Panorama of the pre-show crowd.
A similar show as the one we saw on the motu.
Final shot – all of a sudden, the dog picked up a scent, and ran to the shore. We never did see what she was looking for. I hope she found it!
